It’s day one of the Texas Nature Challenge, and we didn’t want to waste any time.
This week, we visited the River Legacy Living Science Center. I had seen this building before, from the outside, and thought it was only for classes or school trips and I thought it cost money to visit. But it’s free and anyone can go. It’s like a little hidden gem in North Arlington. You can read my review here.
We went to the front desk and picked up our clipboard and bag of supplies. I brought crayons and pencil with me, but the kind people at River Legacy had a pencil bag full of goodies for us to borrow.
We spent some time in the exhibit area first. My son learned about rivers in Texas while my daughter found a place to play.
Then we went out on the trails to find a live tree, a fallen log, and a honeybee. We never saw a honeybee, but we did find lots of butterflies and decided that they also counted as pollinators.
We got our sticker, but one-third of our party had given up before it was all done:
River Legacy Living Science Center was a winner. We will be back to visit again.
